Bismillah….
Because I am talking about my exchange experiences, so I will talk about my journey before going abroad.
Here you go...
Talking about exchange program, I got the information when I was in 10 grade of MAN 3 Kediri. There was an alumni who shared the information about it. I was interested with it and registered for it. After that, of course I had to take the test.
There was 3 phases on regional level. First test was writing test. On this test that taken in Pare, I did the problem about social knowledge, english, and write an essay. That was the toughest test for me because I could not do some problems. And when I heard about how many the part
icipants are, I was so surprised. In all over Indonesia, there were about 7000 participants and there would be no more 120 who went abroad.
Alhamdulillah, I passed to the next phases of test. Yes, interview in Malang. There were 2 phases of this test. First, interview about out personality in Indonesian. Second, basic English interview with talent show. I danced traditional dance for my talent show. That was without any preparation, but thankfully I could do that.
Next test was third phase. I didn’t know what it is called, but we did it in a group that the committee prepared for us. At that test, we had to have good group communications. So, we were given a problem and had to solve it in group. After that we presented what we did one.
Passing the third phases of test means that I was completed region test level. The next level is national level in Jakarta. In this test, I met all the participants from all over Indonesia. Honestly, I was really nervous because I saw other participants and they were looked like so hard to be beaten. Hohohoho. We were being quarantined 3 days to finish our test. That was so tiring but full of fun. I got more friends from other cities in Indonesia.
After waiting about 1 month, I got the announcement stated that I passed the test. So I just need to wait the form selections in international level. And finally, I got the letter stated that I was one of the student from around 120 students who got scholarship to go abroad. That was so great and unforgettable news.
And yeah, it was my journey before going to USA. Open my next posts to read my next footprints.
See you and Wassalamu’alaikum Warohmatulloh…

Bismillah....

That day was Sunday 25 October, 2014. Tiring day with all of the new experience for me. Check it out. I started my day at 9 am when I was finishing my breakfast. Yap, corn flakes which was mixed with chocolate milk. Enough to make me full that morning. " Hurry up, I wait you at the car," oh no, mom already scream to my sister and I. I finished my breakfast and run quickly to the car. All of thing was with me. Purse, money, phone, shoes. " Ready mom," I said to my hostmom. Where we gonna go? Hmmm, Downtown. We would go to Brownsville Downtown to buy my dress for Homecoming dance tonight. Mom just dropped my sister and I, because she need to go to somewhere else. We went from one store to the other store. First, we did not find anything, although we already there for 30 minutes. Next store, hope I can find something. Yap, we did. I found dress and sweater. So, what I need left was shoes, scarf, and pants. We continued the journey. Store for shoes. 5 shoes was already tried by me before I found the flat one. So, time to find the scarf. I already went to 3 stores, and I can not find it. Huh. So, we went to buy some chips first. Mom already came to pick up. Before we get home, she dropped me at the store where I probably can found my scarf. And she was right. I found it there. What a relief. ^_^
Done for shopping. Time already 3:30 pm. We just got home when my sister said that we needed to take a bath soon, because we gonna go to her friend's house to do our make up. Hmm, I did it.
After finishing all of that, dressed up, make up on, scarf done, my friend picked me up to go to homecoming dance. Her name was Ali. We went together.
I did not have any idea how was homecoming is. We ate the delicious food with salad for the appetizer, chicken in the main course, and cup cakes for the dessert. time was 9:00 pm. Music started to play. Ali grab my hand to the dance floor. Awkward at the beginning, but I enjoyed it more. In  the middle of dance time, the principal announced the king and queen, prince and princess, and they would dance. Nice. Then, all of student continued to dance. Time was 11:00 when Ali's mom came to picked we up. Huh, I got home and dressed up to go to bed soon. Cleaning my make up, and time to slept because that already 1:00 am.

That was my Sunday, 25 October when I live in Brownsville , Texas and I went to Hanna High School in my senior year...

Bismillah...

Holaaa, here I am.
Today is October 28. Nothing special, especially in Brownsville, Texas. What's wrong Ana?
Heem, let me tell it. Long time ago before Indonesia being independent country, October 28 1928, there was a meeting for youth community delegation from all of region. The main problem which they discussed, the way how to created the unity for all of youth in Indonesia. So they can work together to get their independent.

Here the pledge.

Firstly
We the sons and daughters of Indonesia, acknowledge one motherland, Indonesia.
Secondly
We the sons and daughters of Indonesia, acknowledge one nation, the nation of Indonesia.
Thirdly
We the sons and daughters of Indonesia, uphold the language of unity, Indonesian.

State the pledge, one nation, one language, followed by positive thinking and believe if that pledge will be apply in every youth community in Indonesia.

And so, every year we as Indonesian celebrate it. No matter where we are in.
Although I am far away from Indonesia, it does not mean I will forget it. Not at all. I woke up this morning with more spirit. I wore my "Batik" and my special thing ( Indonesia flag + "garuda" pin ) in my dress. Don't forget my flag. How is the way I share with the people in the school was like this. I say about Youth Pledge Day, what is that, how is the story, how can it be meaningful for Indonesia, how is the pledge, and finally I take picture with some of them. And they excited for it.

Here we go!! I am Fitriana, and I am proud to be Indonesian.
